Christ is a heavy instrumental quartet based in Montreal (Canada), co-founded by Patrick Fontaine and Maxime Jenniss in 2014 and featuring Charles Marty & Bunny Bartczak. Recorded at the mythic Hotel 2 Tango by Thierry Amar (Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Thee Silver Mt. Zion) and Radwan Ghazi Moumneh (Jerusalem In My Heart), Tower perpetuates the city-tradition for long & epic compositions that evolve slowly but gracefully. Complex & precise, the four tracks on this debut album are combining heavy guitars with lush harmonic textures and drop tuned sound masses to create enthralling and particular soundscapes. Christ’s music seems to bear a heavy burden, a penance where every luminous minutes had been hard-won.
